Education: BS, Florida Atlantic University, 1998; MS, Florida State University, 2010; PhD, Seattle Pacific University, 2016. At SPU since 2013.

Nalline Baliram, PhD, joined the School of Education at Seattle Pacific University after teaching high school students for 14 years. She taught a variety of mathematics subjects, including Geometry, Algebra 2 Honors, Pre-calculus, and AP Calculus. In 2013, Dr. Baliram joined SPU as a doctoral student and adjunct instructor in the School of Education.  Upon earning her PhD, she joined the faculty in 2016 full-time.

Dr. Baliram research focuses on teacher attrition and multiple modes of teaching. More specifically, she examines why math and science teachers are quitting the profession during their first five years of teaching. Furthermore, she uses her expert knowledge and experience with online teaching to research ways to support and prepare teachers for effective online instruction. Dr. Baliram primarily teaches graduate-level courses to pre-service teachers who are preparing to teach mathematics and/or science at the middle and high school levels.
